Moskva-class sub by VoughtVindicator Moskva-class sub by VoughtVindicator
More ship profiles. In this I proudly say I used no references whatsoever or copy/pasted a thing. This is a 100% me product.

It's the future, year 2251, a fourth world war looms over the earth. The fleets of submarines of dozens of nations are dispatched for a sortie that might be the last. They are to unload their nuclear arsenal once the order is given. Many types of submarines sail to the seas, but none would do as much damage as the fearsome Russian Moskva-class.

What makes this sub special isn't that it uses a silent MHD drive, or that it can launch UAVs, but the way it launches the nukes. Unlike the rest of the subs of the world, who used missiles or aircraft to deliver their nuclear devices, this one uses a laser-propelled nuclear shell. [link] The main hatch opens, and the large projectile is magnetically ejected from the submarine, then two lasers onboard (at the sides of the hatch, powered by a fusion reactor) propel the shells at extreme speeds in a ballistic trajectory, and so it achieves a range as big as any intercontinental ballistic missile, but the launches are much more dificult to detect.
The lasers are powerful enough to shoot the shells into orbit, so it can also double as a FOBS or ASAT-type weapon.

Yeah, it has to surface to fire. Nothing is perfect, and Russia loses the war to China in the story.

The format is from Shipbucket.

Well, at least this time it wasn't against the United States as in countless billion videogames and movies.

Thanks, anyhow

What's the deal with the blunt bow? Wouldn't it affect performance or is it thi intake for the MHD?

Ah. To take in large amounts of water and quickly shoot it through the sub. Right?

Yeah, and to avoid the thing projecting a huge magnetic field all over the place to make it a "shoot here" neon sign for ASW
